Planners congregate as FPA National Roadshow hits Perth

The Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA) visits Perth today as the 2016 FPA National Roadshow continues its 33-leg journey around Australia. Almost 300 FPA members and colleagues will gather to hear updates on current legislative reform, and learn new strategies in the area of further advice and aged care.

FPA CEO, Dante De Gori, CFP®, says FPA members and other financial planners have responded enthusiastically to the National Roadshow, with satisfaction levels ranging between 90-100% per event.

“Legislation continues to be a hot topic at this year’s Roadshow, and we expect the pace to pick up again after the forthcoming election. Members are understandably keen to know the detail on some of the changes ahead, and we will continue to support members with best practice guidance and clear information about what they need to do,” says Mr De Gori.

This year’s FPA Professionals Congress will also take place in Perth, for the first time since 1994. The FPA recently announced the theme as “Future Ready”, which is about helping financial planners adapt and prosper in a rapidly changing professional landscape.

Mr De Gori says both the National Roadshow and the Professionals Congress are designed to support FPA members and delegates with the knowledge and skills to stay ahead of change, whilst continuing to deliver the best outcomes for clients.

“It’s always a delight to visit our growing professional community face-to-face. I know that our members in Perth will help us host an extraordinary Professionals Congress this year, and I am looking forward to announcing more program details over the coming weeks. For those who need to travel, my advice is to book early.”

The FPA Professionals Congress will be held in Perth from 23 – 25 November and offers up to 15 CPD hours across a broad range of keynote sessions and workshops. For more information, program details, and early bird registrations, visit www.fpacongress.com.au.

The FPA National Roadshow has been touring regional Australia and Capital cities since April, with nearly 3,000 financial planners already registered to attend. The program continues until July, with Melbourne (13 July), Brisbane (14 July) and Sydney (20 July) still to take place. For more information and to register, visit: www.fpa.com.au/roadshow.
