Leading American change-maker to address 2018 FPA Professionals Congress

The Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA) is excited to announce that inspirational American philanthropist and change-maker Alex Sheen has been confirmed as the first of the keynote speakers for the 2018 FPA Professionals Congress, taking place in Sydney on the 21-23 November. This is Mr Sheen’s first visit to Australia.

Founder of the international social movement because I said I would, Alex Sheen is on a mission to better humanity by changing the world through promises made and kept. He will be speaking in the third keynote session on Friday 23 November about how he has inspired millions to become better at fulfilling their commitments.

FPA CEO, Dante De Gori CFP® said Mr Sheen will share with delegates how they can cultivate their own unique potential by honouring their commitments.

“This year’s FPA Professionals Congress in Sydney we will support delegates to develop their leadership, technical and personal development skills and knowledge. I look forward to hearing Alex’s insights into how we can all stay focused on delivering on our promises to clients.”

Alex is a four-time TedX Talk speaker, and former corporate strategy leader who founded the not-for-profit organisation in 2012. Built on the foundation of encouraging positive change and acts of kindness, because I said I would sends out ten “promise cards” to anywhere in the world for free. People use these cards to remember the importance of their word, for promises both big and small. With the assistance of its volunteers, over 9.81 million promise cards have been sent to over 153 countries.

Some of Alex’s own promises have included volunteering at 52 different non-profit organisations in a single year, driving through the night to deliver disaster relief aid to victims of Hurricane Sandy and walking nearly 400 kilometres across the State of Ohio in under 10 days to fulfil a promise to three Cleveland women who were held captive for a decade.
