FPA visits 33 locations to help rally and support financial planners facing change together

Thousands of financial planners from 33 locations across the country are expected to come together during the 2019 Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA) National Roadshow to tackle the implications of changing education, ethics, and professional standards to their daily practice.

The 2019 FPA National Roadshow, supported by Challenger, is designed to build a sense of community and provide practical in-person support to financial planners ready to navigate new education and professional standards from the Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority (FASEA), and learn how the Royal Commission recommendations and Federal election are likely to impact them.

Kicking off in Port Macquarie and Tamworth on Wednesday 10 April, the 2019 FPA National Roadshow will visit 33 metro and regional locations between April and June – a full list of locations is on the FPA website. Registrations are now open to FPA members and non-members alike, with spaces expected to fill quickly. To register, visit www.fpa.com.au/roadshow

Dante De Gori CFP®, FPA CEO, said: “We know financial planners are experiencing a tough time at the moment on many fronts. Our driving intent behind this year’s FPA National Roadshow is to actively support and help the financial planning community. Both the FPA and Challenger will be sharing our insights and latest updates, of course, but it’s also a forum for peers to share their concerns and collaborate on solutions.

“Australia needs us to take the high road when it comes to education and ethics. We want to make the path forward as clear and easy as possible for all financial planning professionals to navigate, and it’s important each one realise they’re not alone in that journey,” he said.

With more than 700 Australians retiring each day, retirees represent a significant and growing proportion of advised clients. National event partner, Challenger, will be joining the Roadshow to share insights on legislative changes impacting retirement planning and advice strategies for addressing client risks.
