FPA partners with Kaplan Professional and RMIT University

The Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA) has partnered with two education providers, Kaplan Professional and RMIT University, which will allow financial planners to combine a Master of Financial Planning degree with the CFP® Certification Program.

The news comes after the FPA announced its first partnership of this kind with Deakin Business School in February 2020.

Kaplan Professional has commenced enrolling students for its June /July intake. The education provider’s FASEA-approved Master of Financial Planning has been mapped against CFP® certification units 1,2,3 and 4. Kaplan Professional will include the CFP® certification capstone as an elective option, which counts towards its FASEA-approved Master of Financial Planning.

RMIT University will commence enrolling students for its first semester in 2021.

FPA CEO, Dante De Gori CFP® said the partnerships with Kaplan Professional, the largest provider of postgraduate qualifications in financial planning, and RMIT – Australia’s largest tertiary institution – will offer enormous benefits to current and future generations of financial planners.

“This is a huge win for financial planners, who will not only be able to graduate with a FASEA-approved Master of Financial Planning but will also have satisfied all of the education requirements of the CFP® Certification Program.

“Our growing number of partnerships with leading education providers around Australia is a significant benefit for financial planners, who are now able to graduate with both an academic qualification and the highest global professional designation in financial planning, which is recognised in 27 countries around the world,” he said.

By partnering with leading education providers, the FPA aims to offer choice and flexibility to financial planners.

“We are aligning our education options with other professions like accounting, where professional designations are already imbedded into their academic programs,” Mr De Gori concluded.
