FPA names Semester 2, 2020 winner of Gwen Fletcher Memorial Award

The Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA) has named Jacob McCudden of Back To Back Financial Planners in Young NSW as the Semester 2, 2020 winner of the Gwen Fletcher Memorial Award.

Named after the late ‘First lady of Financial Planning’, the award recognises the highest performing student in the CFP® Certification Unit (CFP C) for each semester, with demonstrable dedication to providing high-quality financial advice.

“The CFP® Certification Program has definitely been challenging and very comprehensive in terms of covering all aspects of financial planning,” Mr McCudden said.

“One of my primary motivations for becoming a CFP® was a desire to achieve the highest certification in the profession and to hold the same level of qualifications as some of my peers.”

Mr McCudden has been a financial planner for four years and said he was surprised and pleased to be named the Semester 2, 2020 winner of the Gwen Fletcher Memorial Award.

“Financial planning is a profession I love and will be in for the long term. While I often consider myself a technical planner and enjoy the professional development side, I am really passionate about working with clients and seeing the positive change that my skills can make in their lives.”

FPA CEO, Dante De Gori CFP®, congratulated Mr McCudden on his win: “I would like to congratulate Jacob on his achievement and to formally recognise his ongoing commitment to Gwen’s legacy of improving the financial planning profession through education and higher professional standards.”

The CFP® designation is the only financial planning designation recognised globally. It is a recognised symbol of excellence for financial planners who are actively committed through higher education and accountability to adhering to world-class professional and ethical standards.
