FPA names Allen Ozdil as the Semester 1, 2020 winner of Gwen Fletcher Memorial Award

The Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA) has named Mr Allen Ozdil of Pitcher Partners in Melbourne, Victoria, as the Semester 1, 2020 winner of the Gwen Fletcher Memorial Award.

With only two and a half years under his belt as a financial planner, Allen Ozdil has taken out the prestigious Gwen Fletcher Memorial Award for being the highest achieving student in Semester 1 of the CFP® Certification Unit.

“The CFP® Certification Program is a very challenging course. I put in a lot of effort to complete it and it is satisfying to see all that hard work pay off. Knowing the high calibre of some of the students sitting the program, it’s very humbling to receive this award,” Mr Ozdil said.

The award recognises the highest performing student in each semester of the CFP® Certification Program with demonstrable dedication to providing high quality financial advice.

“Early in my career, I wanted to ensure that not only did I have the highest technical standards, but I also had a strong ethical framework from which to work. I saw the CFP® Certification Program as the way to achieve those higher professional standards,” Mr Ozdil said.

“I’m still relatively new to the profession, so every day is a learning experience. I really enjoy my role advising clients, which is helping me develop and refine my skills. For me, the future is all about becoming a better planner.”

Dante De Gori CFP®, CEO of the FPA, congratulated Mr Ozdil on his win: “Allen’s outstanding results reflect a commitment to advancing his career in the financial planning profession and I proudly welcome him into the growing CFP® professional community. The CFP® designation is the first choice for clients and employers as it is the gold standard in advice.”

The CFP® designation is the only financial planning designation recognised globally. It is a recognised symbol of excellence for financial planners who are actively committed through higher education and accountability to adhering to world-class professional and ethical standards.

Enrolments for Semester 2 of the CFP® Certification Program close this week on Thursday 2 July. For more information, visit fpa.com.au/cfp

The next Gwen Fletcher Memorial Award winner will be announced in November 2020.
