FPA launches new My CPD learning solution for members

“A game changer in the CPD market,” says FPA CEO

The Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA) has launched its new My CPD solution that allows members to plan, access and track their Continuing Professional Development (CPD) on the FPA Learn online education platform.

Exclusive and free of charge to FPA members, My CPD is a game changer in the CPD market and includes the CPD finder and tracker functions that give access to up to 4,000 hours of CPD from over 100 suppliers, in one place.

The CPD framework requires professional financial planners to achieve a number of CPD hours within a certain time period in specific areas. This must be done quickly and accurately, and ensure the CPD is compliant with not only the FPA, but also the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) and FASEA. The FPA’s My CPD platform provides a comprehensive, central solution to this.

Dante De Gori CFP®, CEO of the FPA, said: “We set out to build a solution for our members that gives the largest aggregation of FPA and FASEA accredited CPD options in one place. It’s a one stop shop for accessing nearly 4,000 accredited CPD hours from a range of key partners, and the FPA itself which offers a range of CPD opportunities online and through its events.

“With convenient, flexible and fast access to content, My CPD makes it easy for FPA members to stay on top of their CPD requirements. No other platform will offer this diversity – it is truly a game changer.”

The CPD finder function gives members an extensive list of CPD options from the FPA and key sector providers, including webinars, courses, articles, quizzes and workshops. Members can search by CPD area, number of hours and delivery format. Each week the FPA is adding more options and further suppliers.

CPD tracker allows members to track and measure their CPD to ensure they fulfil all their personal CPD requirements. Access to the starter version of the tracker is now open, and the full version will be available by end 2019. This will allow members to export a copy of their CPD records, search their training history and schedule future CPD activities.

My CPD is available on FPA Learn – an online learning platform that brings together all members’ FPA education and professional development needs. The platform includes FPA Return to Learn, which provides tools and resources to navigate the new education and professional standards for financial planners.
