FPA launches new Careers in Financial Planning networking events across Australia to inspire next generation of planners


The Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA) is delighted to announce the launch of its inaugural FPA Careers in Financial Planning Event Series in partnership with Kaplan Professional.

Taking place in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney, the new series of networking events runs from 12 March – 2 April 2019, providing aspiring business, commerce, and financial planning tertiary students with the opportunity to meet local and national employers, education providers, and recent graduates who have kicked off careers in financial planning during a time of enormous change in the profession.

Milo-Arne Wilkinson is confirmed as a key speaker for Sydney and Brisbane.  She is Curator for ELEVEN, an executive leadership program by Kaplan Professional. FPA Student Member Angus McGregor will speak in Adelaide, and Milena König AFP®, Associate Advisor with Capital Partners Wealth Advisers will speak in Perth.

The cocktail style events includes drinks and canapés, icebreakers and informal networking, lucky door prizes, and tips on building a career in financial planning from industry experts and recent graduates.

Commenting on the launch of the series, FPA CEO Dante De Gori CFP® said: “We’re committed to nurturing and inspiring the next generation of financial planners, so I’m excited to kick off our Careers in Financial Planning networking events for students this month.

“This is a great opportunity for students and young professionals to come together with people who’ve chosen the rewarding and flexible career of financial planning, to hear what it’s really like, get some tips, and share ideas in a relaxed setting about the future of our profession.”

Milena König AFP® is an experienced Associate Adviser skilled in Wealth Accumulation, Retirement Planning, Wealth Protection, and Portfolio Management. She holds a Master of Financial Planning from Kaplan Professional, a Bachelor of Commerce (Corporate and Investment Finance), and a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Western Australia.

ADELAIDE

Whilst studying, Angus McGregor developed an interest for financial planning when he completed a work placement with one of South Australia’s leading financial planning firms, Minerds Bell Consultancy Group. Angus gained experience with major brands such as BankSA and Westpac whilst completing his studies in a BA of Commerce (Finance) at Flinders University. He is now a Group Operations graduate at Westpac who leads a team of 42 onshore agents that assist thousands of customers in financial hardship with an aim to restore them back to financial health.

Speaker at the Brisbane and Sydney events – Milo-Arne Wilkinson, Behavioural Scientist & Curator for ELEVEN, an innovative executive leadership program by Kaplan Professional.

Milo-Arne Wilkinson has over seven degrees in the areas of forensic psychology, neurosciences, organisational psychology and psychotherapy, and is one of the main facilitators and coaches for ELEVEN, Kaplan Professional’s innovative executive leadership program. Milo-Arne just recently completed an assignment with Dr Jason Mitchell from Harvard University on discovering the unconscious brain.
