Women in Wealth

The FPA’s Women in Wealth program is designed to attract more women to the profession and to foster community, innovation and leadership amongst existing financial planners.

FPA is proud to present FPA Women in Wealth – a program designed to advance the progression of women in financial planning.

Currently, women make up 27% of the FPA membership, and only around 20% in the profession. In order to continue to nurture and grow our profession, it is vital that we support more women to consider a career in financial planning as well as to progress from financial associate roles to that of financial adviser.

The program offers mentoring and personal and professional development opportunities to support career progression.

2019 FPA Women in Wealth events

This year’s FPA Women in Wealth networking event series will feature inspiring athletes from elite Australian netball team, the Giants. The 2019 event program kicks off in July and full details will be announced soon.

Partnership with Financial Executive Women

Our collaboration with Financial Executive Women (FEW) will help foster community, innovation and leadership amongst existing female financial planners and also encourage more women to choose financial planning as their profession.

FEW provides structured career advocacy and support programs to help women progress in their careers. As part of our partnership, FPA members receive discounted rates on FEW membership and events.  FPA also partners with FEW to offer members the opportunity to participate in a ‘Circle’ discussion at selected FPA Women in Wealth events.

I’m a man – what’s in it for me?

Our FPA Women in Wealth event series is intended to benefit men and women alike since everyone has a role to play in advancing work culture and diversity.

In an increasingly competitive business environment, gender diversity has been proven to support sound business strategy: young employees look to work for progressive companies and they want to feel represented and supported in their career development goals.
