Maritza is passionate about building long term financial advice relationships with clients, and helping them realise their personal dreams and objectives. Explaining complex financial and economic fundamentals in easy to understand terms and educating clients on an ongoing basis makes her happy.
Since founding Brisbane-based MK Wealth Solutions in 2015, she’s built a steady client base of professionals aged 35-55, mainly families with young children.
Her academic and professional background is impeccable. After graduating with a master’s degree in economics and a postgraduate diploma in financial planning in her native South Africa, Maritza spent two years as a Private Banker and Investment Specialist at Absa Private Bank, a division of the Barclays Bank. She then joined Sasfin Securities, one of the country’s leading wealth management and stockbroking businesses as an Investment Adviser/Stockbroker.
In 2008 Maritza relocated to Australia, and joined a global stockbroking firm. Maritza continued her ongoing education by completing a number of stockbroking and financial planning degrees in Australia, and in 2014, decided to widen her financial planning passion to incorporate a full financial services offering, including retirement planning and long term insurance. She proceeded to become SMSF accredited, and today specialise in direct equity portfolios within Self-Managed Super Funds (SMSFs) and retail superannuation funds.
Since founding MK Wealth Solutions, she has been shortlisted for a number of prestigious nationally recognised awards, published numerous financial planning articles and recorded financial planning productions in order to educate more Australians on the importance of financial planning.
Personally, as a mother to three children, she is also a passionate philanthropist and has been involved with the Starlight Children’s Foundation for a number of years. When time permits, she strives to make an impact on the general health and well-being of the less fortunate by donating her time.
