Kathryn is a Private Client Adviser in Shadforth Financial Group’s Melbourne office.
After successfully graduating with a Bachelor of Arts honours degree in French and Spanish through Bristol University in the UK, Kathryn completed the Diploma of Financial Planning through Deakin University. She became a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner in 2005.
Kathryn has worked in the finance industry for over 13 years, starting with Shadforth Financial Group (previously The Money Managers Ltd) in 2001. Over that time she has worked with wealth accumulators and specialised in helping pre-retirees and retirees develop optimal strategies for their retirement.
Kathryn believes in excellent client service and maintaining long term relationships with her clients. She has strong technical skills with an extensive knowledge of markets, investments, superannuation, taxation planning, insurance, Centrelink, aged care and retirement planning and keeps her knowledge current by attending adviser briefings and technical sessions.
Kathryn places importance on using her expertise to support the local community, having volunteered her services as Treasurer of the local kindergarten for 2 years. She also works with some charitable and not- for-profit clients, giving advice to their members, and assisting them to manage their own finances.
Kathryn believes that educating people about their finances and helping them to make informed decisions is the key to successful financial planning. She recently recorded two segments for a financial education program “Dollars with Sense” on Channel 31 to talk about how to manage the financial impact of divorce on couples.
Kathryn has two young children so spends her time away from the office getting involved in their activities and school events. She also enjoys time at the gym to keep active, as well as dining out with friends, movies and travel.
