Financial Planning Bushfire Pro Bono Program for impacted Australians – for financial planners

The Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA) and the Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) have partnered to provide a pro bono program where FPA and AFA members can volunteer their time to help Australians impacted by the bushfires to rebuild financially.

The Financial Planning Bushfire Pro Bono Program can put you in contact with a member from our community affected by the 2019-20 bushfires in NSW, Queensland, Victoria, and South Australia. Affected individuals may include;

  • Somone seriously injured as a result of the bushfire (or has an immediate family member who has been seriously injured)
  • An immediate family member of someone who has died
  • Whose principal place of residence has been destroyed or seriously damaged
  • Whose small business has suffered serious damage to its premises, plant and/or equipment.

What assistance is available?

Financial planners involved in this pro bono program will be matched with individuals who have been directly impacted by the bushfires and who are in need of financial advice including matters relating to insurance, debt management, investments, superannuation and more.

The amount of assistance provided under this program will be decided by the financial planner based on your capacity to provide pro bono support and your matched individuals’ needs.
