The FPA Townsville Chapter Committee, in conjunction with Platinum Asset Management invites you to attend a Member Seminar on Tuesday 1 March 2016.
At this event you will hear from guest speaker Douglas Isles, Investment Specialist at Platinum Asset Management who will present on “Applied Behavioural Finance and Risks of Home Bias in Australian Portfolios”.
Presentation Snap Shot
Platinum has a world-class record of more than 20 years of investing in Global Equities from Sydney, delivering more than twice market returns in the flagship Platinum International Fund whilst creating substantial value across all its regional and sector funds.
At its core, Platinum’s approach could be viewed as “Applied Behavioural Finance” – using an understanding of market psychology as a key component of finding new ideas. This leads Platinum to a unique position among global managers of having more money invested in China today than any other country.
These opportunities in China today are focussed on the Consumer; the media is focussed on a slowdown in investment. But, it is the latter which means advisers should be carefully considering “Risks of Home Bias in Australian Portfolios”.
Breakfast will be provided. We hope to see you at this seminar.
