FPA SA Chapter Professional Development & Future2 Golf Day


Monday 29th March 8.30am – 11.15am

TThe FPA South Australia Chapter Committee is excited to invite you and your colleagues to the 2021 Professional Development morning to be held at the Glenelg Golf Club on Monday 29 March 2021.

Four speakers will run CPD accredited sessions in the morning from 8:30am – 11:15am. This will be a morning of networking and keeping up to date on the latest developments in the financial sector. 

PD Day Speakers and topics will include: 

Dr Jeffrey Scott, Metflife: Understanding how APRA’s Income Protection changes will impact you and your clients. Go through the revised measures proposed by APRA to improve Retail Income Protection sustainability so you can (1) Better understand APRA’s measures (2) Determine the possible impacts of these measures and (3) Discover the different options to meet your Best Interest Duty to your clients. (4) Understand how APRA’s Income Protection changes will impact you and your clients.

Julie Steed – Technical Services Manager, IOOF: Transfer balance cap unbalanced! or Pension perplexions! In this session we will review: Transfer balance cap indexation. Recent changes to calculating commutation values for defined benefits, Dealing with death benefits, Interaction with the total super balance.

Danny Pupovac, Centuria: Rethinking alternative investment strategies. Dany will challenge your current thinking regarding non super investment strategies.

Chris Siniakov – Managing Director, Australia Fixed Income, Franklin Templeton: Fixed interest – understanding the risks of chasing returns in a low yield environment. Generating meaningful returns from Fixed Interest has never been more challenging and this session will help explain how we got here, why yields are likely to be lower for longer, what we can learn from the past and the risks of chasing returns from Fixed Interet in the current environment.

For those playing golf, the Ambrose shotgun will commence at 12:30pm (after a light lunch before hand) until the day’s end, with drinks and sit-down dinner, guest speaker and presentations. There will be competitions, both for serious golfers and some novelties for our more social players, together with various prizes and a Future2 raffle. The Golf Day will commence at 12:30pm until the day’s end, with drinks and sit-down dinner, guest speaker and presentations.
