Australia’s spam and telemarketing laws
The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) will be presenting on Australia’s spam and telemarketing laws. These laws serve to protect Australians from unwanted intrusion into their privacy, misleading and deceptive business practices, and burdensome financial and resource costs. Since mid-2020, the ACMA has been cracking down on unlawful financial services marketing. This session is intended to educate practitioners in the sector about their obligations if they conduct marketing activity by phone or email, including when outsourced. It will include an overview of the rules, some recent examples and tips on how to comply. It will also include a Q&A session.
