Financial planners to face the future head on at 2016 Congress

Registrations for Perth open on 1 June

The Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA) has announced ‘Future Ready’ as the theme of its 2016 Professionals Congress, to be held in Perth from 23 – 25 November.

FPA CEO Dante De Gori, CFP®, said the Future Ready theme is about helping financial planners adapt and prosper in a rapidly changing professional landscape.

“Financial planners need to be more aware and better informed to embrace disruption and ensure they are prepared and capable of staying one-step-ahead.

The 2016 FPA Professionals Congress is an opportunity for FPA members and the wider financial planning community to unite with like-minded colleagues to hear, share, connect and grow.

The event will equip delegates with practical tools, techniques and new ideas. Those who attend will feel better prepared to embrace whatever challenges and opportunities the future may hold,” said Mr De Gori.

Mr De Gori continued by saying that the 2016 Congress will build on the success of previous years.

“Over 1,000 delegates attended last year’s Congress in Brisbane, and the majority of those who attended were practitioners. This year we expect similar numbers, if not higher, in light of recent growth in the FPA membership.

“We are extremely excited to be holding the event in Western Australia, which will give delegates a great opportunity to explore top destinations such as the Margaret River wine region. The last Perth-based FPA national gathering was held back in 1994,” he concluded.

The FPA Professionals Congress program will offer up to 15 CPD hours across a broad range of keynote sessions and workshops covering technical topics, ethics, best practice solutions, leadership and personal development skills.

Registrations open on Wednesday 1 June. Delegates are encouraged to book early to benefit from financial year tax savings, and an early bird rate that provides a saving of $150 off the registration fee.

Delegates are also encouraged to book flights to and from Perth as far in advance as possible to secure the best times and most affordable airfares.

Further updates on speakers and the workshop program will be released in the lead up to the event. For more information or to register, please visit: www.fpacongress.com.au.
