In comparison to others, the Financial Services Industry is very young. From the 90’s to today, I have seen many changes, including the significant and much needed changes of the FSR Act in 2004. I believe the current chapter of FOFA reforms will help reinforce the process for advisers, while providing some guidance for advisers and businesses that may need a helping hand.

I have been a ‘fee for service adviser’ since 2004 and a Certified Financial Planner since 2008. I am passionate about minimising any potential conflict of interest where possible - as I believe this is the only way the industry can truly provide objective financial advice to clients.

As every client is different, the key focus should be the establishment of a solid foundation by putting in place the right underlying strategies first. From here, a solid pathway is laid to deliver specific advice to the areas that are most urgent, and then to the areas that can be addressed over time.

My belief is that the above can only be delivered effectively by forming not only a trusted ongoing relationship with clients, but also with other service professionals in the industry.
