Western Australia Chapter Member Lunch

The Western Australia Chapter Committee will be hosting a Member Lunch on Wednesday, 15 February at Fraser’s Function Centre.

At this event you will hear from three experts who will present on:

Disputes and client complaints – case studies
Ethics – answering your questions
Best interests duty – how to protect your business

About the speaker – Fiona Halsey, Director, Halsey Legal Services

Fiona commenced legal practice at Clayton Utz where she worked in the taxation division.  Prior to establishing Halsey Legal in 2000, she was a director and in-house counsel for international accounting firm Ernst & Young. 

Her practice is diverse, although the matters she deals with are generally connected to the financial services industry.  These include professional negligence, employment law, client complaints, disciplinary hearings, restraints of trade and other commercial litigation. 

Fiona is a member of The Taxation Institute’s national professional standards committee. 

About the speaker – Julia Feher, Obsequium Consulting 

Julia is an experienced compliance professional, commencing her career at ASIC and gaining exposure to the regulation and compliance of AFSL holders and financial advisers nation-wide.

Subsequently, Julia gained industry experience working as a consultant at Deloitte in the Governance and Regulatory Consulting team and most recently, as a Compliance Review Manager at Macquarie Private Wealth and further as a founding director of Obsequium Consulting.

Julia’s practical experience is complemented by the qualifications she has attained in CPA Australia and RG146. 

 
About the Speaker – Eloise Armitage, Obsequium Consulting

Eloise is an experienced Compliance and Investigative Consultant with extensive experience in financial and professional services.

Eloise’s career has spanned professional services firms Deloitte and Ernst & Young in Forensic services. Following this, she worked within the Market and Participant Supervision team at ASIC and most recently at Macquarie Private Wealth in the roles of Compliance Review Manager and Advice Quality Coach, prior to establishing Obsequium.

Eloise is also a qualified and licenced Investigator in Western Australia.
