Thursday 16 February, 7:00am – 8:45am,  Launceston Breakfast Seminar

“Back to Business 2017”  Supported by Perpetual Investments Australia and Austock Limited

The FPA Tasmania Chapter Committee invites you to a Member Seminar on Thursday 16 February 2017, to hear from Perpetual and Austock.

Perpetual Presentation Synopsis
In the wake of the US presidential election and with growing speculation of tapering by the ECB in 2017, come February, Trump will have been inaugurated as President, which leaves most wondering how this change will affect markets in 2017. Our senior investment specialists will address some of the challenges that lay ahead of us leading into the new year and where we see opportunities in the current market environment. They will also address how to best position client portfolios to leverage off these opportunities, while still being aware of the level of embedded risk in these portfolios.

Austock Presentation Synopsis
The resurgence of the insurance bond market in Australia can be attributed to a number of factors including market discontent over the continual changes to Super, the rise in the number of blended families and associated estate planning concerns, and more recently, the Government’s squeeze on Aged Pension.

Insurance bonds offer an effective alternative to some of the more mainstream investments and can be established with unlimited monies by any person over the age of 10 years. They have the benefit of non-lapsing, binding nominations to give estate planning certainty, an internal tax rate capped at 30% and may have significant advantages for income-tested pensioners and Aged Care residents.

Austock will briefly recap the structure and beneficial features of Bonds, look at the opportunities available for those clients impacted by new Super Caps, explore how Bonds can provide simplicity and certainty when it comes to estate planning and run through some examples of clients who might now be income-tested for Aged Pension as a result of the increase in the asset-test threshold.

This Seminar will be held in both Launceston and Hobart!

To reach all of our Tasmania based members we are running a breakfast seminar in Launceston followed by a lunchtime seminar in Hobart
